So that little thing with the Fat Red Man and Shiny trees has come and gone again, in a few days most of us will be celebrating the fact another year has passed without a global nuclear meltdown or something.  This also gives me the opportunity to get all depressed about so many fine looking games coming out in 2011 that my poor old box probably won’t be able to cope with, still…maybe your hamster isn’t so dated so here ya go….

The Witcher 2 – More of everything that made the fantasy racist morally grey rpg so dark and sexy…more boobs too!

Star Wars The Old Republic – Its Bioware, Its Star Wars, it’s an mmo.

Brink – It’s a fps that doesn’t have the words Call of Duty in it and it looks jolly nice too.

Duke Nukem Forever – Yes…Hell has Frozen over and Pigs have figured out Jet propulsion…but will it still suck?

Doom 4 – Hopefully by now they have figured out people want to see and shoot at the same time……

Diablo 3 – RPG for the people who don’t really want to play RPGs but have the cool stuff anyway, still looks nice.

Mass Effect 3 – More Shepard and aliens to shoot/sleep with.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution – Finally a return to an rpg/fps sci fi franchise with some political depth.

Rage – From the same people who make the Doom Games using the new Doom4 engine….only more Mad Max.

Batman: Arkham City – Can Rocksteady really improve upon perfection?

Warhammer 40,000 Space Marine – Its going to be awesome, look it even has Space Marine in the title.

Trine 2 – Loved the first one, must….love….sequel….

Portal 2 – The Cake was a lie but the coop is truth.

Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim – Sequel to the amazing Oblivion, hopefully with less level scaling though.

Warhammer 40,000 Retribution – 2nd Expansion to the brilliant Dawn of War 2.

Dragon Age 2 – First one was stunningly good, this one seems to have more stupid and Mass Effect in it but maybe it’ll still work, have to wait and see.

Shogun 2: Total War – More conquest from the masters at Creative Assembly, this time with 100% more Japan.

Bullet Storm – Looks like good wholesome mindless violence for all the family, hopefully Epic won’t do a rubbish port ala Gears of War 1.

Homefront – Interesting one to watch, Become the Resistance in this near future oppressive regime fps.

Dead Space 2 – Sequel to scary sci-fi horror hit by Visceral Games, bring a change of pants.

Battlefield 3 – Been a while and several free to play versions later, remains to be seen with so many other multiplayer fps games around if it will still make as much impact as the original two did.

I’m sure I missed a few but that’s a pretty big chunk of fun for anyone who likes PC games so I think that’ll do. I have also recently been invited to a couple of beta tests which will give me some perspective on a few other games I don’t yet have an opinion on. Anyway I’m done, Happy New Year!
