So it turns out Warner Bros. Montreal won’t be fixing their shit. Batman Arkham Origins, the third in the series of Batman games, won’t be getting any more fixes to the game breaking bugs they shipped with the game. In a forum post to their customers they basically admitted they’re too busy making more buggy broken DLC which you will naturally eat up being the mindless cash cows they believe you to be.

Here is the post and the quote:

Hi all,

The team is currently working hard on the upcoming story DLC and there currently are no plans for releasing another patch to address the issues that have been reported on the forums.

If we do move forward with creating a new patch, it will try to address the progression blocking bugs for players, not the minor glitches that do not prevent one from continuing to play. The issues that are not progression blockers will unfortunately no longer be addressed.

We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused for some of you, and want to thank you for having been patient.

So this makes me really angry but also really glad. Angry that they would crap all over their customers, angry that they crapped all over the series which was lovingly and skillfully created with the previous two titles from Rocksteady, the real developer with quality work. Batman Arkham Origins is at it’s very core a cash grab, a game palmed off to a different developer because Rocksteady is busy making something better. So Warner Bros. decide to milk the good name while shitting on their fanbase because it’s worth money, and to hell if you didn’t get your monies worth they’re busy elsewhere now.

We’re not just talking minor bugs they’ve chosen not to fix here, some customers have been unable to finish playing the game because of buggy/broken sections within it. As RPS points out, if they actually spent time fixing these issues, their customer base for the DLC would be larger. Instead they decided it’s cheaper to write off those frustrated customers and just market to the ones who were lucky enough to finish it…or stupid enough to pay for it and not bother.

I’ll give them some credit for being honest, it takes a certain level of detachment from your customers to believe they will accept this. They have to believe this sort of behavior is acceptable and won’t affect their bottom line. Well folks the ball is now in your court, either you make sure you speak with the only value you have to Warner Bros Game Publishing i.e. with your wallet, not buying their games, not buying their DLC in the future. Or you confirm you are the target audience of their crap and eat it up ignorant to their disdain for you.

Oh and the reason I’m glad is because the moment I learned the developer of this third installment wasn’t the developer of the previous two, I immediately decided to wait for reviews before thinking about buying it. Consequentially I never bought it and spent my money elsewhere, money talks guys, how loudly will you speak?
